MAY DAY!

It's been a busy few weeks here at Casa Jenkins. Here are some of the hightlights:
- We enjoyed a lengthy visit from Meemaw who was so excited to be around her grandbabies, she jacked up her meniscus (that's in your knee, by the way).
- Otto & Tyson celebrated the arrival of springtime by getting copious amounts of hot spots (weepy, bleeding, hairless areas on their skin) and vomiting.
- Dylan refuses to sleep through the night anymore. In the beginning, I was worried. Now, I don't give a crap if he goes to a damn rave at 2am.
- Sawyer has decided that all vegetables are "hurting my tummy" and insists on making graphic gagging noises at the dinner table. Note: I am quite sure this induces the dogs to vomit.
- Wegmans tried to tell me I would have to wait 3 days for my Percoset refill.
Do. Not. EVEN. Go. There.
- This little lady becomes more mischevious by the day. Do not let the below picture fool you.

Ain't She Fab?

It's Friday. We're still in our pajamas...with unbrushed hair.
And we're eating enchiladas.

This just in: you're jealous.

Those Jenkins Boys....

Almost since Day 1, these two have recognized that they are brothers and, therefore, share a special bond that can be found no where else.
They wrestle, fight, make up, bitchslap, tackle, hug, share food, steal food, play nice, play not-so-nice, play like asylum escapees - but they do it all Together. However, their favorite game has to be Torture Our Parents. And, damn, they are good at it.Last night at dinner, Dylan said "Mama, Dada said we could eat Japanese food tomorrow night out a restaurant."
I glare at Pat as restaurant eating roughly translates in to: pricey meals that end up on the ground and one child always finds a knife or eats a sugar packet.
Pat says, "No, I did NOT say that, Dylan!"
*Cue Dylan giving Sawyer a somewhat sly message of: attempt not going well - engage Target.
Sawyer says, "No one was talking to you, Dada."
Oh. Well, hell.
At least they are attempting to manipulate us Together and I'll take teamwork in any shape or form.

Hoppy Easter

We decided to have an Easter egg hunt in our backyard this morning.
Not shockingly, Pretty thought she could eat plastic Easter eggs. She does not get candy this year as it is not recommended for 1 year old's....or her thigh circumference.
Can you read Sawyer's face? He is saying, "waitaminute....he has seven eggs....I have 6. What the hell?!"

Happy Easter 2010, everyone!

Note: no dog poop in my backyard was harmed during this egg hunt.

This Guy....

It has been said many times that I need to write down all of the wacked out things my wacked out kids say. Dylan is usually very clever and witty in his comments. Lo screeches like a wolf pup. This one...well, read for yourself -
To an older, family friend: "Bob, what's in your big fully belly, Bob? (pause) Is it bananas? Are there bananas in your big, fully belly, Bob?"
Mama: Sawyer, if you are going to wake up at 5:45am and pound around this house like some 'roided up hyena, it's time you learned to make your bed.
Sawyer: (in whiny, baby voice) But Mamaaaaaa, I am soooooooo tinnnnnny.
(Walking one night with the family....push stroller through a puddle and wheels leave wet tracks)
Sawyer: WHAT THE HELL?
Mama: SAWYER DANIEL! We do not say those words!
Sawyer: (pouting) HUMPH! I mad at you!
Mama: Why are YOU mad at ME?
Sawyer: I want to say 'what the hell' every day and I will, Mama! I WILL SAY WHAT THE HELL!
And the absolute greatest, most horrific atrocity ever to come out of my sweet baby's mouth -
(Just getting out of bath tub, Sawyer is sopping wet and wiggly)
Pat: Sawyer! Stop moving! You are getting water everywhere!
Sawyer: (mumbles)
Pat: What did you say to me, young man?
Sawyer: (whispering) Bitch.
Pat: (dumbfounded & stuttering) Wh....what? What did you.. (gulp) what did you say?
Sawyer: Bitch. I SAY BITCH, DADA! I SAY IT!

Cuatro

4 years ago today, we welcomed Sawyer Daniel in to the world. He came early, he came fast and he has yet to slow down.

We cherish his endless compassion, his true loyalty to his big brother and little sister, and the way he enters each room with a giant smile & a laugh.

I could do without your butt jokes, though, mister.

Happy birthday to our middle baby who brings us so much joy.
