Lo

This picture was too cute to not share....Logan is almost 4 months old and still reigns supreme in the Best Baby category. Usually she is very smiley and loud, but obviously her emotions were constricted by the tight headband around her noggin. Blame Mama.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

We are so happy it is the weekend! Mama picked the boys up early from school, took them outside to play, cracked open a beer, gave them juice boxes and we watched a flurry of rabbits run amok in the neighborhood. What the hell....?
Poor Logan. We know she is child #3, but she is the only girl. You'd think she'd get something to herself - like her new mobile. Not so. The boys just HAD to inspect it.....nude.
We wish everyone a safe & happy Memorial Day Weekend. A special thank you to the men & women that have bravely served our country - Dada, Bucket & Uncle Jim -  and those that continue to do so - Brendan and Cousin Evan.

AIR SHOW 2009

"Are  y'alls serious? We's gets to go to the Air Show at Andrews Air Force Base today? Oh hells yeah!"
"Wait...we gotta be good and stick together and hold hands? Well cripes, I didn't sign up for this touchy feely junk."
"Holllllllly sheeeeeeeeeet - big, dog gone aeroplanies AND NASCAR?! My daddy just done and died!"
(EDITOR'S NOTE: we told Sawyer if he didn't get with the program and behave, his butt would be sitting in a jump seat on the way to Dubai)
"Well doggone, that was a good day! And a special thanks to Tio Jose for holding the umbrella when our mama had to feed baby Logan on the cement ground in front of a space shuttle moonbounce. That is friendship, homey."

TGIF

It's Friday, and we are very happy about that! Mama is having a hard time adjusting to being back at work. Getting out the door in the morning is the biggest debacle since Joan Rivers won "Celebrity Apprentice." Someone is always dropping Froot Loops everywhere (Sawyer), someone is always wanting it to be Friday so it's Show & Tell at school (Dylan), someone repeatedly forgets to take curlers out of her hair and walks out the door (Tyson) and someone always forgets his lunch (Pat). Logan is calm and cool throughout the whole ordeal....probably because she is strapped into a car seat and has no choice but to be patient and watch.
All 3 kids continue to amaze us by growing so fast. Yesterday Sawyer told me that "Sawyer starts with S!" I almost drove off the road, I was so proud. Logan is still the sweetest, most angelic baby ever, and Dylan got a glowing report card from school. He excels at Math and Science....and eating cantaloupe. Honestly, that child ate HALF a cantaloupe.
We hope all of you have a great weekend!

Happy Mother's Day

Before talking about Mother's Day, we need to acknowledge Sawyer, who started preschool this past week. He was THRILLEd about finally getting to go to "Dylan's school" and was allowed to pick out his lunch bag and nap blanket (both Transformers). His teachers have called him "spirited" and "enthusiastic" which we all know is code for Loud and Nuts, but we'll take it.
Mother's Day started out with some luxury - sleeping until 8:30. Amazing. Mama got lovely cards from her babies and went shopping and had a nice lunch.  Then the 'real presents' were given -

The boys washed Mama's minivan and were very helpful......
Lo made a special cameo during car washing but Dada has deemed her too ladylike to do manual labor. Mama called BS on this one and immediately took Logan inside for some tips on the proper uses of the vacuum attachments.
After 18,000 days of rain, our backyard looked like a Costa Rican jungle and, as promised, it got mowed. A huge relief to Mama's OCD genetics. She swears the grass was taunting her.
Someone felt a tad daredevil-ish while playing in the backyard and ventured some bush climbing. Look closely....you know you see his head. Sputnik sees his head, for crying out loud.

Happy Mother's Day to our own mothers, our friends who are mothers and our friends that will be mothers!

We are closing up the Maternity Leave shop and starting Monday, Mama is back to work! So we are taking advantage of our last quiet moments and relishing in afternoon naps. The two hooligans below have entered a new phase - Sunglasses Obsession. They are used for everything - protecting your eyes from the sun, reading books, bathing, pretending to be invisible and Sawyer even told me he needed them while on the toilet. Sigh. I pick my battles....
An amazing present arrived last week - this GORGEOUS pencil rendering of Logan that Amy's best friend, Julie, made for us.  I was so blown away by its perfection, and we are so grateful to have such a keepsake. Pat wants to have similar ones done of the boys. I also said it would be nice to have one of the Schibbies. I don't know if that's happening.

Logan enjoyed her first real summer days as the temps hit 90. Mama barked and cursed that it was hotter than (insert profanity here) and Sawyer screamed at every bug that flew down the street. Today Meemaw arrives to help us out for some time. We are very excited to see her as is the Leesburg branch of Costco - she is their best customer.
